Bleaching and Washing Machine
Bleaching is one of the most important pretreatments for textile material before dyeing.continuous bleaching and washing machine It 'whitens' the fabric by destroying undesired inherent coloring matter and makes it possible to achieve a more even and neutral color result during the dyeing process. It also improves the stability of the cellulose structure and reduces the tendency to form pin holes during weaving, knitting and sewing. It is necessary for the quality of the finished fabric and the degree of absorbency.
A continuous bleaching and washing machine is an indispensable component of any modern textile finishing line.continuous bleaching and washing machine Whether for cotton jerseys for fashion or workwear, elastic warp knitted fabrics with or without Lycra or special fabrics for upholstery textiles – the open wide wash systems from Menzel are suitable for all applications and meet the high demands of our customers in terms of performance and reliability.
Menzel offers a wide range of continuous oxidative and reductive bleaching machines for all common cellulose fibers. These include the SCOUT pad-steam bleaching ranges for scouring any cellulosic woven or knitted fabrics, such as cotton jerseys for fashion and workwear or cotton / elastane and polyester / cotton blends. The system can be equipped with an optical brightener compartment OPTICAL for the application of low or medium affinity optical brighteners without contaminating the bleaching machine.
Compared with conventional systems, a continuous oxidative bleaching line reduces the number of process steps and energy consumption, while at the same time increasing the speed of production and guaranteeing a consistently high level of product quality. It is especially suitable for fabrics which require particularly gentle treatment, such as delicate cotton and blends.
During the early days of bleaching, a piece of cloth was submerged in boiling caustic lye for several hours. This was followed by scouring with soap, soured in water to neutralize the harsh effects of the caustic and to further dissolve foreign matters not attacked by the caustic, then washed and bleached in a kier solution requiring eight to twelve hours. The more powerful laundry bleaches of today are sodium hypochlorite (chlorine or liquid household bleach) and oxygen bleaches which can be used for the bleaching of colored washables, as well as for whites. They disinfect, clean, brighten and help to remove stubborn stains. The oxygen bleaches are more gentle and can be used for all washable fabrics, including wools and silks. Bleached fabrics are much easier to process in further manufacturing steps and are more resistant to tearing.
